Football West is inviting all clubs to sign up for its second Think Mental Health Round.
Think Mental Health Round takes place on 13-14 July and aims to raise awareness about mental health and wellbeing while supporting you and your club in fostering a supportive culture.
It is part of the wider Kick off the Conversation integrated community program, developed by Football West and Healthway.
Almost 60 clubs are registered for Kick off the Conversation, while 31 clubs have signed up for Mental Health Round.
Participating clubs have been allocated a BBQ kit, promotional signage and a $100 food voucher to assist with the event.
Since the launch of the program earlier this year, 12 clubs have assigned a wellbeing officer for their club.
At least 29 wellbeing officers and club representatives across WA have completed one of our suicide prevention courses offered in person at the SKFC and online.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
It is easy to get involved with Think Mental Health Round:
- Host and promote a BBQ or other event at your club and provide an opportunity for members to socialise and Kick off the Conversation with one another or someone new
- Utilise available resources to facilitate meaningful discussions. These resources provide valuable guidance and conversation starters, helping you navigate important topics surrounding mental health
- Spread awareness by sharing our Mental Health and Wellbeing key messages
- Display Think Mental Health signage at your club
