Football West ventured to new ground recently with a trip to Christmas Island and the Cocos Keeling Islands.
The Australian Government invited Football West and Perth Glory to visit the Indian Ocean Territories to engage with local schoolchildren and adults.

Football West community coach Agha Shah and Perth Glory A-Leagues and Junior Matildas representative Bella Wallhead spent a week with each community.
During the trip, they engaged with hundreds of children and adults through school visits, youth programs and all-women's and senior sessions.

Football West Community Football Manager Abid Imam said: “It was a privilege for Football West and Perth Glory to be invited to visit Christmas Island and the Cocos Keeling Islands.
“Agha and former Hyundai NTC player Bella are two great ambassadors and the reports from the trip indicate the local schoolchildren and adults loved the sessions.
“We would like to thank the Australian Government and the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries for the opportunity to showcase what we do in a unique environment.”

The visit coincided with the 40th anniversary celebrations of the Cocos Islands' Act of Self-Determination.
Services provided by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries to the IOT are funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts.
