Day Two wrap: National Futsal Championships 2025

Day Two of the 2025 National Futsal Championships in Melbourne produced more impressive displays from the Gold Fields WA State Futsal teams.

Almost 6,000 fans, players and family members packed into the State Netball and Hockey Centre to watch over 50 games across the seven pitches.

All teams now have a clear picture of what they need to do on Friday to book a place in Saturday's finals.

The WA Girls U13s made it two wins from two to go top of Pool A. A hat-trick from Savanna Glavovic and goals for Emily Geurds, Angelina Kalantzis, Gracie Kendrick and Olivia King gave Salv Todaro’s side a convincing 7-2 victory over NSW Country.

The WA Women also got a win to keep their hopes alive in the Open category. The side, under coach Jose Galindo, saw off Victoria (White) 4-2, with Tayna Campos (2) and Theo Mouithys on the scoresheet.

Nestor Fonseca’s WA Men’s outfit head Pool B of the Open Category after they maintained their winning start with a 10-6 defeat of Capital Football. Charlie Garnham bagged four, Justin Tang a brace, while Tyler Garner, Lachlan Ryan and Alessandro De Andrade Basto also chipped in.

Another WA player to score four was Joshua Canlas as the Boys U15s thrashed South Australia 9-0. The other scorers were Milos Golub (2), Bastian Dominguez Rubina, Blake Levin and Milos Banic.

Anthony Fico’s players then had to back up against Queensland, but despite further goals from Canlas and Levin they went down 6-2. The U15s are still in the hunt, three points behind the top two NSW Metro and Queensland.

And it was an excellent day for the Boys U14s as coach Chris Castro saw his team brush aside NSW (Lightning) 6-2. The goals came via Brandan Parry (3), Reed Thompson, Anthony Ciffolilli and Cameron Papiccio.
