Football West is delighted to present the Club Changer Club of the Month for May 2025 to Esperance Soccer Association.
The theme for May was volunteering, to coincide with National Volunteer Week, and the club has grown to around 350 players in 2025 driven by the fantastic work of volunteers.
Esperance Soccer Association president Louise Pearn said: “Esperance is a remote coastal town where people are used to fixing things themselves locally.
"We have doubled our junior players over the last two years and wanted to embrace the enthusiasm for the sport. But this is a massive ask of our volunteers. Developing a girls league with female coaches had the advantage of balancing out our gender mix in both players and volunteers.”
Football West Community Football manager Abid Imam said: "Congratulations to Esperance Soccer Association and their hard-working volunteers. The work they put in has been crucial to the growth of the sport there and it's great they have been recognised in this way."
