Expressions of interest wanted for South West football working group

Football West is inviting expressions of interest for a working group to help shape the future of football in the South West.
The working group will be made up of 8-10 members and will work closely with Football West to establish a new governance structure. It will meet for the first time at the Department of Local Government, Sport & Cultural Industries office in Bunbury on Saturday 22 March between 9am and 5pm.
The formation of the working group comes as Football West supports the implementation of the South West Reform Project to create a unified football association for the region.
The key principles guiding the restructure include:
- Building stronger clubs
- Development of players, coaches and match officials
- Participation and retention
- Cohesive culture and approach
Football West Chief Operating Officer Perry Ielati said: “The restructuring of football in the South West follows years of consultation between Football West and clubs, associations and other stakeholders.
“The region is extremely passionate about football, and we value the contributions of all involved during these discussions.
“The working group will shape the future of football in the South West and we hope to have all parties represented. There are a lot of great things happening across the region that we want to capture and build upon.
“Football West would like to thank everybody who attended the recent meeting at Busselton City FC, including clubs, match officials, volunteers, the South West Soccer Association, the CCJSA [Country Coastal Junior Soccer Association] and LNJSA [Leeuwin Junior Soccer Association], as well as the DLGSC and the City of Busselton.”
