Female Football Week: FREE five-a-side tournament for girls

Football West is inviting girls to play in a FREE five-a-side tournament as part of next month’s Female Football Week celebrations.

It will be held at the Sam Kerr Football Centre on Saturday 10 May and is open girls born between 2009-2011 (U14-U16).

Research shows this is the peak age of sport dropout in females, and the tournament will hopefully encourage more young teenage girls to stay involved.

The tournament will coincide with the build-up to the A-Leagues finals, with each team given the name of an A-Leagues – Women’s team. A Perth Glory ALW player will attend the day.

Registrations close Friday 2 May.
