Football Australia Junior Matildas Head Coach Rae Dower has been in WA as part of the governing body’s talent identification program.
Dower, who is also Women’s Technical Advisor, spoke with Hyundai NTC players and their parents as well as overseeing a match at Percy Doyle Reserve.
“What we want to do is give everyone the opportunity around the whole of the country to be able to get that first step in the journey of being a Westfield Matilda,” Dower said.

“I think the really great thing is that some of the players we earmarked from a couple of years ago, it’s awesome to see that they’ve continued to develop and improve. And, of course, it’s always great to see some new little nuggets of gold.”
Football West Chief Football Officer Jamie Harnwell said: The NTC’s got a proud tradition of producing players, from Sam Kerr, who was involved in the very early days, to the latest generation like Leticia McKenna, Morgan Aquino who have now moved on to W-League … locally there’s Hana Lowry, Bella Wallhead who have all gone on and represented Junior Matildas.
“It’s something we are very proud of and we want to make sure we continue that.”
