Football West would like to advise that all football across the Perth and Peel region has been postponed over the long weekend following the WA Government’s announcement of a three-day lockdown.
Premier Mark McGowan announced today that Perth and Peel will enter the lockdown from midnight tonight until 12.01am Tuesday. People will be required to wear face masks in public from 6pm tonight.
The postponement means no competitions, training or programs can take place until Tuesday. This includes the NPLWA – Women’s Round Three matches scheduled for tonight.
The lockdown does not impact football programs or competitions outside of the Perth and Peel region. However, anyone who has been in Perth or Peel since 17 April must follow Government advice and wear a mask.
Football West would like to join the Premier in encouraging people to take part in a Driveway Dawn Service for Anzac Day.
We know that you were all excited to play this weekend, especially the juniors who have just kicked off their season,. However, we encourage you to keep up the skills at home.
To stay up to date with this fast-evolving situation, please follow the State Government’s COVID-19 advice here: https://www.wa.gov.au/.../covid-19-coronavirus-latest....
