The Football West Academy celebrated the maiden year of its Boys program last week.
Players and coaches from the U13, U14, U15 and U16 teams were recognised at the presentation evening, held at the Sam Kerr Football Centre in Queens Park.
Each team announced a Coach Award, with the following players presented their trophies by Football West CEO Jamie Harnwell:
- U13s: Julian Gentile
- U14s: Joshua Panashe
- U15s: Harrison Howitt
- U16s: Daniel Reilly

Mr Harnwell and Boys Program Lead Neil Kilkenny addressed the audience, while phase coaches Stephen McDonald (U13s), Ein Eric (U14s), Gareth Naven (U15s) and John Walmsley (U16s) also spoke.
“It was a good night, and I’d like to thank the boys for their efforts throughout the season,” Kilkenny said.
“They have shown a very good attitude and have been keen to learn, and we will raise the bar again going forward.
“I also want to acknowledge the coaches and strength and conditioning team for their work commitment to improving the boys.
“Finally, a word of gratitude for the parents who get the boys to training and their games.”

There was also a prize draw for a pair of Skechers football boots, valued at $380, for one player from each of the four teams.
Trials for the 2026 program are currently taking place.
