Football West, Football Hall of Fame WA sign MoU
Football West is pleased to announce a formal Memorandum of Understanding with the Football Hall of Fame Western Australia.
The three-year agreement marks a renewed and strengthened commitment to preserving and celebrating the rich history of football in WA.
The partnership will see a Football West representative appointed to the Hall of Fame’s Executive Committee to help drive closer collaboration. This will be in a non-voting capacity.
Football West and the Football Hall of Fame will co-deliver events to honour football’s heritage and promote the legacy of past players, coaches, match officials and other contributors.
Football West CEO Jamie Harnwell said: “While Football West and the Hall of Fame have always had a close working relationship, it is great to formalise our partnership in this way as we celebrate those who have done so much for our sport in WA over almost 130 years.”
Football Hall of Fame WA President Louis Prospero said: "The Football Hall of Fame WA is pleased to have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Football West.
"This positive action will ensure that the history of our code will be looked after in partnership with both parties. We look forward to working with the Board and the staff of Football West in the future."
Football West has committed to assisting the Hall of Fame with grant applications and covering the agreed storage costs of historical memorabilia. Both parties will also explore opportunities to establish a permanent museum space to showcase WA’s football history.
While the MoU is initially for three years, there is a shared intention that it will be extended.
