Football West will host a FREE All-Female C Diploma coaching course at the Sam Kerr Football Centre.

The course will take place in April and May and be fully subsidised by the Department of Health and Aged Care through its Play Our Way Program.

All applications will be reviewed by a Football West panel. Football West is looking for experienced, passionate and committed female participants

There are 24 places available, with 12 allocated for metro-based coaches and 12 from regional WA.

There will be travel assistance scholarships for regional participants valued at $2000 to assist with travel and accommodation.

WHAT IS THE C DIPLOMA?

The Football Australia C Diploma is the first step on the FA advanced pathway that is designed to help you become a better coach.

The focus of the C Diploma is on coaching the technical aspects of the game, which include coaching the techniques of passing, receiving, striking the ball and running with the ball, along with defending techniques to regain possession.

The required technical knowledge will be supported with an understanding of the Principles of Play and the fundamentals of coaching.

Football West Manager - Female Football & Advocacy Tash Rigby said: “It is very important that we provide opportunities for women from all regions of Western Australia to pursue their journey in coaching.

“This allows them to develop, contribute positively to the game, act as role models and increase the visibility of female coaches in WA.

“We are incredibly excited to offer a female-only learning environment to encourage growth, connection and confidence.

“We are so thankful for the Play Our Way grant. Removing the financial barrier will help many women who otherwise would not be able to complete the course, especially those from regional WA.”
