Fremantle, Balcatta reach Women's State Cup final

Balcatta Etna and Fremantle City will meet in the 2025 Women's State Cup final after both won their semi-finals in thrilling fashion.
Balcatta had to come from behind at the Sam Kerr Football Centre, with Golden Boot leader Renee Leota firing Perth RedStar ahead.
Balcatta were level before half-time as RedStar's defenders left Abbey Meakins unmarked and she took advantage with a cool finish. Then with five minutes of normal time to play, Lucy Jerram latched onto a loose ball in the box to send the Night Series winners to the final.
It was an even more dramatic first half at Wauhop Park, with Freo in front after only 25 seconds through Janice Kiama, two up by the seventh minute thanks to Mikayla Lyons' back-post finish, only for Hyundai Football West Academy to have levelled before the interval thanks to Cate McAuliffe and Theo Mouithys.
Lyons had the final word, however, grabbing a breakaway winner on 70 minutes.
The final will be at the Sam Kerr Football Centre on Saturday 30 August.
