Help shape future of Walking Football in WA
Football West is inviting expressions of interest for players to join a Walking Football Advisory Group.
The new group will support the growth and development of Walking Football across Western Australia.
It will provide strategic advice, stakeholder perspectives and practical insight, helping guide the sustainable growth, coordination and quality delivery of Walking Football in line with the Walking Football Strategic Plan 2025–2027.
Walking Football continues to grow as an inclusive, accessible and socially connected format of the game, delivering strong outcomes for health, wellbeing and active ageing.
The advisory group will play a key role in shaping Walking Football’s future by advising on participation and access, visibility and advocacy, development pathways, events and competitions, infrastructure and scheduling, and system leadership.
Football West is seeking a diverse mix of voices and expertise, including:
- Walking Football hub coordinators and facilitators (metro and regional)
- Club-based Walking Football representatives
- Male and female participants
- Health, active ageing or community wellbeing professionals
- Local government or facilities specialists
- Referees and facilitator development contributors
Appointments will be for a two-year term (2026–2028).
This is an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the future of Walking Football in WA, support collaboration across the sector, and help ensure high-quality, inclusive experiences for participants statewide.
