Incredible turnout for Regional Girls Training Camp
Almost 100 youngsters from around WA are taking part in a three-day Regional Girls Training Camp at the Sam Kerr Football Centre.
The players, who are aged 10-17, were invited to the camp on the back of last year’s Country Week carnival.
Across three high-quality sessions, players will experience:
- On-pitch technical training
- Small-sided games
- Gym-based athlete development sessions
- Recovery education
- Educational workshops on nutrition, mindset & game understanding
- An elite environment used by professional teams
Football West Female Football & Advocacy Manager Sarah Carroll said: "The purpose of the camp is to allow regional players to experience the top-tier facilities that the Sam Kerr Football Centre offers, while also enjoying the chance to meet new people.
"The camp combines on-field training with off-field education, offering a balanced experience. Not only do they get valuable on-field exposure, they also gain access to gym facilities and a dedicated nutrition session to support their overall development.
"The turnout has been incredible. We really appreciate the effort everyone has made to attend, and we hope the girls enjoy the experience and take plenty away from it."
Football West Regional Lead Tanya Amazzini said: "Providing opportunities like this is essential to supporting the growth, confidence and ongoing participation of our regional female players in the game."
The Regional Girls Perth Training Camp is supported by the Female Community Legacy Program and funded by the WA Government. The project aims to enhance club governance and capability and support female participation across all areas of football, in both metro and regional WA.
