The inter-divisional play-off finals drew a huge crowd to the Sam Kerr Football Centre on Saturday and supporters were treated to a day of drama with three of the four games ending in promotion parties and relegation regrets.
The only final in which the higher-ranked club prevailed was the last one, as Fremantle City retained their NPLWA - Men's status with a 2-1 victory over Division One Joondalup City.
Lucas Rossi was the star for Freo as the underdogs were caught cold. He opened the scoring on nine minutes after being slipped in by Paul Zimarino, then five minutes later cleverly steered a header beyond keeper Joe Smith.

Joondalup improved after the interval and they gained a foothold into the match on 70 minutes when Charlie Betts fouled the excellent Mason Gallagher, who converted from the penalty spot to halve the deficit.
Substitute Ed Wilcock came close to an equlaiser when he flashed a shot narrowly wide, while near the end Smith denied Rossi his hat-trick with a good block.
In contrast to the celebratory scenes from the winners of the previous games, there was a muted reaction from the Fremantle players as they reflected on their brush with relegation.
Cockburn City reversed their recent decline with victory over Kalamunda City in the State League Division One/Two final.
The Cockerels had suffered successive relegations in the past two seasons, dropping from the NPL to the third tier.
But they have climbed back up to Division One at the first attempt after overcoming Kalamunda 4-3 on penalties following a 1-1 draw after extra-time.
The two goals came inside the opening 10 minutes. Nicolas Roca put Kalamunda ahead after collecting a return pass from Andrea Erbetta and finishing past Zayde Free, before Matt Bowen was given too much space and he curled into the far corner for 1-1.

Both sides had chances to win it in normal time, the best of which fell to the unmarked Sean Palethorpe with the last kick. However, the Kalamunda substitute scuffed his effort in front of goal when, if he had taken the ball down, he would surely have scored.
In extra-time, Cockburn were given a great opportunity to go ahead after Kalamunda defender Ignacio Gomez dragged down Isaac McVittie in the area. Fortunately for Gomez, his keeper Jake Maley-Orr guessed right to keep out James Bourne's penalty.
That sent the final to penalties, where Free saved two spot-kicks for Cockburn including the decisive one from Ramiro Costes.
The result means Kalamunda drop down a division after one season in Division One.
Comeback of the day was from Morley Windmills, who will return to the State League after a two-year absence.
The Belt Up Amateur Premier Division side were up against it as they trailed Wanneroo City 2-0 at half-time. Asa Sippits slotted in the opener on six minutes with the referee about to award his side a penalty, then late in the first half Joshua Allum scored from Finn Pidgeon's pass.
John Monterosso got Windmills back in the game 14 minutes from full-time after he reacted first to a flick-on. The goal looked to be a consolation until the seventh minute of stoppage time when Andrew Ruane levelled from the edge of the area.

That meant extra-time and five minutes after the restart, substitute Mehdi Rabei grabbed Morley's winner when he raced on to a long ball and deftly flicked his shot over Roos keeper Conall Power.
The result means Morley head back to Division Two of the State League, swapping places with Wanneroo who will be in the Amateur competition for the first time in almost 50 years.
Joining Morley Windmills in State League Division Two are North Beach, who condemned Swan United to Sunday football with a 1-0 win in the day's opening fixture.
James Ashford got the winning goal, a cool-as-you-like chip from at least 35 metres after Swan keeper Rain Blauberg's clearance dropped into his path.

North Beach keeper Aidan Holloway stood firm when his team needed him, including a great point-blank save from Brennan Borzecki. Meanwhile, at the other end, Blauberg showed off his futsal skills to save expertly with his feet to stop Alex Kretowicz from making it two.
While North Beach ended a 47-year wait for State League football, Swan must take stock in the Belt Up Amateur Premier Division.
