Football West is pleased to announce that leading end-to-end rail and transport, infrastructure and building company John Holland is the name sponsor of the 2023 North West Championships.
The John Holland North West Championships will be held in Newman between Friday 21 July and Sunday 23 July.
Teams from Newman, Hedland, Karratha, Tom Price and Broome will be represented at the championships, with boys and girls teams competing in U9, U11, U13 and U15 age groups.
Football West General Manager - Football Perry Ielati said: “It is fantastic for Football West to have secured a partnership with a national company as renowned as John Holland for a big regional tournament as this.
“The John Holland North West Championships will be a celebration of football in the North West, allowing juniors from the associations to come together in their own regions and compete against each other.
“We saw last year, when more than 200 players participated in the championships in Broome, that there is huge enthusiasm from youngsters for football in the Pilbara and Kimberley.
“We would also like to thank Newman Junior Soccer Association who will be hosting the event, plus the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries for their ongoing support for football in the regions.”
John Holland Executive General Manager, Rail & Transport Steve Butcher said: “At John Holland we put people at the centre of everything we do, whether it be delivering transformative rail projects, or supporting the communities that we work in – and that’s exactly what this partnership does.
“We’re thrilled to be part of this fantastic partnership which supports young people in the community to come together and play the sport they love. This further embeds our commitment to the Pilbara community as we deliver important rail infrastructure projects to shape the region’s future.”
