Mandurah City are set to make the Men's State League Night Series quarter-finals after another big Group C win at Crazy Domains Stadium.

They opened their campaign with a 4-0 win, and the Dolphins followed that up last night with another four-goal victory, 7-3 over hosts Forrestfield United. John Baird opened the scoring, while Hamish Van Dieken got two.

Also in Group C, Oscar Wright took the individual plaudits after he scored four in Curtin University’s 5-0 victory over Canning City. Robert Nicolosi grabbed the other as Curtin picked up their first points.

Ashfield recovered from 2-0 down at half-time to defeat Rockingham City 3-2 in Group F. City were on course to make it two wins from two thanks to Taylor Carter’s double. But Ashfield stormed back with goals from Gareth Hamilton, Benjamin Entwistle and Jared Flavel to take over top spot.

At the same venue, Swan United defeated Subiaco 3-2 to stay in the hunt. Swan were three up midway through the second half thanks to Rhys Loxley's double and a goal from Oluwasijibomi Adeniyi. Subiaco rallied with two goals from Sean Cronin but they were unable to find the equaliser.

There is just one point between first and third, and that is the situation in Group A after Kingsley Westside put themselves in contention with a 2-1 victory over Maddington White City at Ellenbrook. Nick Koefler and Jayden Drummond netted for Kingsley.

Gwelup Croatia are top after they fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Joondalup United Jay Lang’s second goal in as many weeks and a James Harmer penalty had United on top midway through the second half. But two goals in the final nine minutes from Jacob Willaimson and Charles Breen preserved Gwelup’s unbeaten start.

Fremantle City are favourites to progress to the last eight following their 2-0 defeat of Morley Windmills at Ellenbrook Sports Hub.

Hamza Hina and Oliver La Galia got the goals either side of half-time, La Galia making it five in two games. City now need only a draw against Gosnells City next week to advance as Group B winners.

Quinns recovered from their heavy opening loss to to beat Gosnells City 3-2.

Two goals from Edward Wynne-Willson gave holders Murdoch University Melville a 2-0 win over Joondalup City and a three-point lead in Group D heading into the final round of games.

Also in Group D, UWA Nedlands repeated last year's State League promotion/relegation play-off final victory over Carramar Shamrock Rovers. Harvey Crew, Luke Salas and Max Blackshaw were the UWA scorers in the 3-1 win, while last season’s Division Two Golden Boot winner Jamie Gibson got Carramar’s goal.

In Group E, Western Knights sit at the summit following their 2-0 victory over Dianella White Eagles at Wanneroo City SC. Alex Kretowicz and Shay Donovan got the goals.

Wanneroo picked up a first win with a 4-1 defeat of Balga. Wanneroo raced into a three-goal lead before half-time, Montee Benjamin, Sebastian Munoz and Jaydan Licastro the goalscorers. Greg Greenwood added another, with Bleron Mamudi getting one for Balga.
