Maranta seals Night Series win for Sorrento over Stirling

Sorrento FC's return to the top flight has got off to the perfect start after they claimed the 2025 NPLM Night Series.
A second-half goal by player of the match Andrew Maranta gave the Gulls a 1-0 victory over Stirling Macedonia in last night's final at the Sam Kerr Football Centre.
Maranta fired in from the edge of the box after Keegan Chambers' shot had been blocked by Stirling keeper James Bosdet.
Minutes earlier Stirling almost scored when Euan Cameron’s 25-yard volley struck the outside of the post.
Sorrento midfielder Neil Kilkenny, a former Socceroo, EPL player and A-League title winner, said: “You never get tired of winning!”
The victory gave Sorrento Night Series triumphs following their success in the State League final in 2024 which preceded their Division One title success and promotion back to the NPL.
