Men's State League Night Series - who will make the last eight?

It is the final round of group matches in the Men’s State League Night Series this weekend, with a place in the quarter-finals going to the six group winners and two best second-place sides.
None of the qualifiers is yet confirmed. However, it is hard to see either Mandurah City or Fremantle City missing out. Both sides sit three points clear and hold a significant advantage in goal difference over their group rivals.
Mandurah wrap up their fixtures on Friday when they take on bottom side Canning City at Crazy Domains Stadium. The other game in Group C is on Sunday at the same venue between Forrestfield United and Curtin University, who both sit on three points.
The situation is mirrored in Group B. Frontrunners Fremantle face Gosnells City, who are bottom, at Ellenbrook United on Sunday, while Morley-Windmills and Quinns, who each have three points, meet on Friday.
2022 Night Series winners Murdoch University Melville know a point against UWA Nedlands at Wanneroo on Sunday will be enough to progress as Group D winners. Second-place Joondalup City and Carramar Shamrock Rovers meet on Friday.
In Group E, Western Knights need only avoid defeat to hosts Wanneroo City on Friday to make the last eight. If they do slip up, however, it could open the door for Dianella White Eagles, who face Balga on Sunday.
The two tightest pools are Group A and Group F.
In Group A, Gwelup Croatia sit on four points with Maddington White City and Kingsley Westside just behind on three. Gwelup face Maddington at Ellenbrook on Sunday and will go through with a win. A draw will also be enough unless Kingsley beat Joondalup United on Friday. Should Maddington and Kingsley win their matches then it will come down to goal difference, with Maddington currently one goal better off.
It is just as close in Group F. Leaders Ashfield have four points, while Rockingham City and Swan United are on three. Ashfield will finish top with a victory over Swan at Crazy Domains Stadium on Friday, while a draw will give Rockingham the opportunity to win the group by claiming three points against Subiaco on Sunday. Victories for Swan and Rockingham will see it come down to goal difference, with the two sides level.
