The Green Machine is ready to fire tomorrow night as Olympic Kingsway plot an Australia Cup upset against Adelaide United.
Olympic are already on a high after becoming NPLWA – Men’s champions on Saturday, their first State title in 44 years.
Now attention turns to taking down A-League side and three-time Australia Cup winners United.
Club president Steve Nelkovski said: “It’s as big as it gets, to host an A-League team is all that we could wish for.
“And following on from becoming champions of Western Australia, we want to put on a show for the whole of the state.”
Olympic secured the NPL crown with a game to spare on Saturday when defeating Balcatta 3-1.
“It’s massive that we put the league to bed,” Nelkovski said. “It means we don’t have to leave anything in the tank for the weekend and we can throw everything at Adelaide.
“The club is set up to compete on more than one front and our record at home is impressive. We haven’t lost at home all season and only RedStar have taken a point off us.”

In the previous round, more than 1,400 fans watched Olympic defeat Northern NSW outfit Edgeworth 4-1 on a wet and windy night. Nelkovski believes a kinder forecast and more high-profile opponents will attract an even bigger turnout at Kingsway Reserve tomorrow.
“We’re expecting a crowd of over 2,000,” he said. “We’re laying on extra food trucks and got the green clappers ready for the kids.
“For a long time we’ve encouraged everyone to wear green to our games … we want to see everyone in green.
“It’ll be a special occasion. It’s not until you are in the Australia Cup that you appreciate the magic of it. I want every team to experience it.
“I love those banners they present to the winning team at the end of the match – we want to collect them!”
Tomorrow's game kicks off at 6.30pm WST and will be shown live, free and exclusive on 10 Play.
Olympic Kingsway are asking supporters to pre-buy tickets to avoid possible delays getting into the ground. Tickets can be purchased here: https://olympic-kingsway.com.au/australia-cup/
