Olympic, Stirling lock in another final encounter

Olympic Kingsway and Stirling Macedonia will meet in this Saturday’s New Balance NPL WA Men’s Night Series final at Macedonia Park.

The rivals both came through tight semi-finals at Dorrien Gardens on Saturday to book their spots.

Olympic had to come from behind in their game against Perth Glory.

Tadiswa Shaun Mutyavaviri put Glory ahead on 57 minutes with a fine solo goal. Aryn Williams levelled 20 minutes from time, before substitute Younous Sow rifled home a last-minute winner from the edge of the area.

Stirling overcame Perth RedStar 1-0 thanks to a first-half goal by Aston Montgomery, who followed up after his initial effort was saved.

Saturday’s final kicks off at 7.15pm and will be streamed live and free on Streamer. It will be preceded by the third-place play-off between Glory and RedStar (5pm)

This is the third year in a row that Olympic and Stirling have clashed in a Football West final. In 2024, Kingsway won 3-2 in the Top Four Cup to complete the Treble. Then last year, Stirling gained revenge when two late goals from Danny Douglas gave them a 2-1 win in the State Cup decider.

The teams met in the opening round of this year’s Night Series, with Olympic coming out on top 4-3.
