Men's NPL Night Series: Wins for Armadale, Kingsway, Sorrento, Athena and Inglewood

On Friday at Frank Drago Reserve, Armadale enjoyed a winning start after goals from Ryan Haslett, Andres Angel Jnr and Peter Jacobsz saw them defeat Bayswater City 3-1. Declan Hargreaves netted for the home side

On the same night and also in Group A, Stirling Macedonia and Perth SC played out an entertaining 2-2 draw. Sam Cook netted the opener for Perth, before a second-half double from Alex Taneski had Stirling in front. But an own goal late in stoppage time from near the halfway line gave Perth a share of the spoils.

There were two matches in Group B on Friday which took place at Dalmatinac Park.

Second-half goals from Cian Hirrell and Joshua Samson ensured Olympic Kingsway were victorious in their maiden NPL Night Series fixture, as they downed Perth RedStar 2-0.

And a late Dean Cummings goal gave Sorrento a 2-1 over hosts Cockburn City. Joe Tweats was Sorrento's other scorer, while Justin Tang netted for Cockburn.

There were two more Round One games on Sunday at Inglewood Stadium.

In Group A, holders Floreat Athena beat Balcatta Etna 3-1. Bala Noah Shamaki, Nicholas Ambrogio and Jesse Roberts were on target for Athena, with Ben Hinshelwood scoring Balcatta's goal.

In Group B two goals from Dylan White gave Inglewood United Football Club the points in a 2-1 victory against Perth Glory. Corey Sutherland scored Glory's goal.
