Perth SC are the new leaders in the NPLWA – Women’s competition after a 4-0 win at UWA Nedlands saw them pass the Hyundai Football West Academy on goal difference after three rounds.
Tom Glavovic’s side have won each of their opening three games to start the campaign, whilst UWA are still chasing their first points of the season.
NPLW RESULTS, FIXTURES & STANDINGS
The Azzurri profited on a wayward pass out of defence to open the scoring with Maja Archibald rifling in, and they doubled their lead before the break when miscommunication between goalkeeper and defender resulted in Tamsyn Hannan applying a simple finish.
Hannah Insch drove down the left on 65 minutes and teed up Epril Nossent who looped in a curling effort for 3-0, before Daisy McAllister wrapped it up when finishing Sam Mathers’ cross.

The Hyundai Football West Academy also have a 100% record to start 2025 after downing Fremantle City 3-1 at the Sam Kerr Football Centre.
Stephen Walmsley’s side took control of the fixture with two quickfire goals around the midway mark of the second half. The deadlock was broken on 64 minutes when Klaudia Houlis picked up a loose ball on the edge of the area and curled in brilliantly.
Minutes later, it was 2-0 when Lacey Heys’ free kick crashed back off the bar and Isabella Wainwright was on hand to hook in the rebound.
Fremantle halved the deficit with 20 minutes remaining as Leyna Wood sprung the offside trap to run in and finish one-on-one past Sofia Borg.
But the Academy were able to seal victory in second half stoppage time when Theodora Mouithys capitalised on a turnover in Freo’s half and pull back for Wainwright to tap in and complete a brace.

The top two are three points of clear of defending champions Perth RedStar who bounced back from last week’s defeat to the Hyundai Football West academy by defeating Subiaco 6-0.
They were at it early on when Carla Bennett’s cross was palmed by goalkeeper Monique Todd into the path of Jay Coleman with two minutes played.
Caitlin Doeglas then registered a first half hat-trick to put the game out of Subi’s reach by the break. Andrea Teixeira threaded a pass through to the striker who held off her marker to fire in, before playing a one-two with Renee Leota and continuing her run to roll into the corner.
Her third came from the penalty spot in first half added time, before RedStar struck twice after the restart to complete an emphatic win. Quyen Doan’s header across goal found Renee Leota who finished from close range before Kaitlyn Bellanca burst forward from midfield and ran in to slot past Todd.

Finally, Night Series winners Balcatta Etna are off the mark in the league as Jamie-Lee Gale and Frankie Murray-Hocking bagged braces in a 5-0 win at Murdoch University Melville.
Set pieces were key in the visitors win and they were up in the first 10 minutes when Gale’s corner was eventually put in by Jaime Duncanson after a goalmouth scramble.
Murray-Hocking headed in a second from six yards after a short corner routine, before Gale scored direct from another corner late in the first half to make it three.
After the restart, a sweeping move involving Liana Cook and Abbey Meakins resulted in Gale striking home a fourth, before Zoee Spadano’s free kick from the right was forced over the line by Murray-Hocking to complete the scoring.
