The Sam Kerr Football Centre, Kingsway Reserve and E&D Litis Stadium have been confirmed as official training sites for the AFC Women's Asian Cup Australia 2026.
The tournament Local Organising Committee, in partnership with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), made the announcement today.
Kingsway Reserve, home of Olympic Kingsway, and the Sam Kerr Football Centre were also used during the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023, underscoring the lasting legacy and importance of football infrastructure investment delivered through major international tournaments.
Meanwhile, a standout upgrade has been completed at E&D Litis Stadium, home of Floreat Athena. The venue has undergone a $3.8 million transformation, funded by the Federal and Western Australian governments, delivering brand-new changerooms and clubrooms, alongside 500-lux floodlighting to meet international training standards.
The majority of selected venues across the host cities Perth, Sydney and the Gold Coast have a strong football footprint and history, reflecting the tournament’s commitment to quality infrastructure, community connection and long-term legacy, reinforcing the focus on delivering the best training and performance conditions of any AFC Women’s Asian Cup in history.
With preparations now entering their final phase, the confirmed training sites will play a vital role in supporting teams as they prepare for Asia’s premier women’s football tournament, while leaving a lasting benefit for clubs, players and communities well beyond the final whistle.
AFC Women’s Asian Cup Australia 2026 Chief Operating Officer Sarah Walsh said: “Great tournaments aren’t only defined by what happens on match day — they’re shaped by the environments teams prepare in every single day.
“Our ambition has been clear from day one — to deliver the best conditions of any AFC Women’s Asian Cup in history. These venues ensure players from across Asia can train, recover and perform at the highest level, while leaving a lasting benefit for the local clubs and communities that call them home. That balance between performance and legacy sits at the heart of everything we’re delivering.”
The AFC Women's Asian Cup begins at Perth Stadium on Sunday 1 March with the Opening Ceremony followed by the Matildas' game against the Philippines.
In total there will be 10 matches in Perth, including two quarter-finals and a semi-final.
