Jonathon Leithead scored the only goal as Olympic Kingsway won the eighth annual Belt Up Regional Festival of Football fixture 1-0 over Perth Glory at Hay Park in Bunbury.
It was Glory’s first loss as they were replaced in second place by last year’s champions, who are undefeated in five matches.
Glory had the better of the early exchanges with Royie Rahimim’s volley from Adrian Pini’s corner straight at Adrian Sinagra.
But David Tough’s side took the lead on 15 minutes when a Glory clearance broke kindly for Joe Hobson, who released Jonathon Leithead to net the game’s opening goal.
Glory had chances before the break as Sinagra saved again from Rahamim before beating away Noah Ieraci’s drive.
Clear-cut chances dried up after the restart in wet and windy conditions as substitute Alfie Knight fired wide from the edge of the box, and Kingsway held firm for their fifth clean sheet this term.
That result means Bayswater’s lead at the top of the league extended to three points after they defeated Perth SC 1-0 at Dorrien Gardens on Friday night.
Perth started strongly with Sam Riak seeing a goal disallowed for offside before Daniel Faichney hit the post.
Bayswater then took the lead with the game’s decisive goal on 34 minutes when Pat Loughrey’s cross ran to the back post for Sean McManus, who turned across for Cameron Teece to tuck away.
The home side came close to a leveller late on when Ethan Banks teed up Faichney whose effort was tipped around the post by Lewis Italiano. The Azzurri’s second defeat in a row sees them vulnerable to fifth-placed Armadale, who moved level on points with Perth after a thumping 5-0 win at Fremantle City.
Armadale led after only four minutes as Amir Ajan intercepted a pass out of defence and slipped through for Pieter Jacobsz to roll the ball across the goalkeeper and into the bottom corner.
Ajan added a goal to his assist on 15 minutes when lifting a free kick over the wall and into the net, before Jacobsz got his second of the game when finishing with ease following another Freo error at the back.
Jacobsz and Ajan were terrorising the home defence and combined to make it 4-0 at the interval, with last year’s Gold Medal winner teeing up the latter to hammer home a deflected strike.
The visitors had a fifth 20 minutes from time following a set-piece with Jacobsz completing a hat-trick to become the first player to reach double figures this term and move two goals clear of Sebastian Despotovski in the Golden Boot race.

Perth RedStar round out the top half after they prevailed 1-0 in a northern suburbs derby over Sorrento FC.
The winner came 10 minutes after the restart when full-back Ryan Finnie’s long-range effort flew up and over Ben Ratajczak and into the back of the net.
Callum Salmon’s side are four points off a top-four spot and are two points clear of both Stirling Macedonia and Western Knights after the pair drew 2-2 at Macedonia Park.
Stirling led on 20 minutes when Sam Wynne’s superb pass released Brent Quick down the right with the full-back crossing for Calvin Whitney to score from close range.
Knights responded with two goals in the space of five second-half minutes to turn the game on its head. Jesse Lazzaro played a one-two with Kosta Sparta before stepping around his marker and stroking home the equaliser.
Lazzaro was involved again as Knights went in front when his cross from a short corner routine was headed in by Harry O’Brien.
Knights then had a big chance to make it 3-1, but James Bosdet saved Lazzaro’s spot-kick 15 minutes from the end. And that save proved more valuable in stoppage time when Whitney’s effort on goal broke for Hugo Snowden to slam in a late equaliser.
The draw means Knights and Stirling remain in a cluster of five teams separated by one point above the drop zone.
In the final game of the weekend, Balcatta Etna and Floreat Athena drew 1-1 at Home Group Stadium in a clash between the league’s bottom two teams.
Floreat led in the opening quarter of an hour when Moustafa Mohamed swooped on a loose ball in the box, stepped around Rostyn Griffiths and struck into the bottom corner.
Vas Vujacic’s side remain five points adrift of safety as Ali Mohamed’s own goal later in the first half earned Balcatta a draw, which saw Glen Grostate’s side move out of the relegation play-off spot on goal difference.
