Football West is inviting players to attend trials for the Gold Fields* Girls State Under 14 and Under 16 teams later this month.
The trials are for prospective State players born 2008 and 2009 for the Under 14s and 2006 and 2007 for the Under 16s.
Both teams will represent Western Australia at the National Youth Championships in Coffs Harbour, which take place between Monday 19 September to Friday 23 September. The Championships play a key role in talent identification for national junior squads.
Football West Football Development Officer Gareth Naven said: “It is exciting to be able to invite girls for trials for the Gold Fields State teams, especially as we are confident the National Youth Championships at Coffs Harbour will go ahead in September after a two-year break for Covid.”
The closing date to register for the State trials is Friday 20 May 2022.
Players must attend a minimum of two trials to be considered.

Trial One
When: Tuesday 24 May 2022
Where: Beeliar Oval, Lakefront Avenue, Beeliar
Times:
• U14s between 5-6.30pm
• U16s between 6.30-8pm
Trial Two
When: Friday 27 May 2022
Where: South Perth United, Challenger Avenue, Manning
Times:
• U14s between 5-6.30pm
• U16s between 6.30-8pm
Trial Three (for Under 14 players only)
When: Friday 3 June 2022
Where: South Perth United, Challenger Avenue, Manning
Times: 5-6.30pm
Trial Four
When: Tuesday 7 June 2022
Where: Beeliar Oval, Lakefront Avenue, Beeliar
Times:
• U14s between 5-6.30pm
• U16s between 6.30-8pm
Players are asked to show up 15 minutes before each session.
