The 2026 AFC Women’s Asian Cup is little over three months away and Football West is giving schools across Western Australia the chance to get involved.

We are inviting school teachers to a special Women’s Asian Cup School Resource Launch at the Sam Kerr Football Centre to help them bring the competition into the classroom.

Perth will be the venue for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Opening Ceremony and the first Matildas match on 1 March, with the final taking place in Sydney three weeks later. In all, there will be 27 matches, including 10 in WA.

The AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2026 School Resource Launch WA is a free event taking place on Thursday 4 December.

It is a great opportunity for teachers to get up to speed on the 12 countries competing in one of the biggest tournaments in women’s international football and share the excitement with their students.

Teachers who attend the launch will receive an AFC Women's Asian Cup 2026 School Activity Book. Designed for teachers and students, the book is packed with fun and interactive content to engage young minds while exploring the history, culture, and global impact of women’s football.

There will be guest speakers, including former Matildas players and Football West staff, who will explain how you and your school can benefit from funded football programs

You will also receive a tour of the state-of-the-art Sam Kerr Football Centre in Queens Park and learn how your school can engage further with programs at the facility.
