State League quarter-finals confirmed

UPDATE 18 February: The 2025 State Lague Night Series quarter-finalists have been confirmed following the last round of group matches.

Group winners Gwelup Croatia, Mandurah City, Kingsley Westside, Subiaco, Cockburn City and Dianella White Eagles are joined by Quinns and Inglewood United, who were the two best runners-up.

Kingsley will play Dianella at Dalmatinac Park at 6.30pm on Friday, followed by Cockburn v Subiaco (8.30pm).

Then on Sunday Inglewood United will meet Mandurah City (5.30pm) before Gwelup Croatia meet Quinns (7.30pm).

Gwelup finished top of Group A after they beat Inglewood 2-1 at Inglewood Stadium last night. Nicolas Echeverria and Jack Bardsley put Gwelup two up in the first half with Ciaran Salinger pulling one back near the end for Inglewood. Despite the loss, Inglewood still advanced to the last eight.

Also in Group A, a double from Josh Chalmers helped Wembley Downs finish their Night Series campaign with a 4-1 victory over Swan United.

In Group B, Mandurah ensured they ended with a 100% record after putting five past Balga at Poolmart Mandurah Stadium. Jordan Callaghan, Ben Gallagher, Gerard Clark, Max Worswick and Luke Desmond got the goals for the Dolphins, who have yet to concede a goal in the Night Series.

The other Group B encounter went the way of Kalamunda City, who beat Canning City 3-0. Gaston Bazet scored two.

Kingsley Westside are another side to advance with a perfect record following their 1-0 defeat of Joondalup City in Group C. Max Adamson was the matchwinner for Kingsley.

A hat-trick from Ryan McCready was the highlight of East Perth’s 5-4 win over hosts Wanneroo City, for whom Jose Zuniga got two.

Subiaco and Quinns went through from Group D after they both ended on seven points.

Subi finished as group winners following their 2-0 win over Ashfield at Paintseal Arena, with Dean Evans and Zaccaria Benabid scoring in the second half.

Quinns edged Curtin University 2-1. James Oldroyd and Andrew Flint were on target for Quinns, while Jude Baillie struck for Curtin.

Cockburn City gave their fans at Dalmatinac Park something to cheer by finishing their Group E campaign with three wins from three. A goal by Oliver Carr and an own goal secured them a 2-0 victory over Murdoch University Melville.

A second-half goal by Declan Collins earned Rockingham City a 2-1 victory over Gosnells City.

Finally in Group F, Dianella White Eagles beat UWA Nedlands 4-1 to claim top spot from their opponents on goal difference.

Cory McNelis, Sam Burgess, Sasa Njegic and Josh Bell scored for Dianella, with former Eagles player Roberto Soares getting the goal for UWA.

The other Group F tie ended in a 4-0 win for Forrestfield United over Carramar Shamrock Rovers [scorers to come].
