Welcome home, Sam! WA superstar Kerr returns to Sam Kerr Football Centre

Football West was recently thrilled to welcome Sam Kerr back to the venue which bears her name.
The West Australian superstar visited the Sam Kerr Football Centre over Christmas to continue her rehabilitation from the ruptured ACL she suffered 12 months ago.
Australia’s record goalscorer was at WA’s home of football for the first time since she and her Matildas teammates attended its official opening, conducted by Premier Roger Cook in October 2023.

Football West Chief Operating Officer Perry Ielati said: "We were delighted to welcome Sam and provide her full access to the facilities. The Sam Kerr Football Centre will always be her home and she’s always welcome here whenever she’s in Perth.
"Everyone in WA is excited to see her getting back on the pitch doing what she does best, and we’re proud to have been able to support her journey to recovery and playing again."

Kerr was in Perth with her partner Kristie Mewis, who is expecting their first child this year.
The former Football West NTC junior has since rejoined the Chelsea squad in Portugal for warm-weather training ahead of her expected return to Women’s Super League action in February or March.
