Wembley 12 from 12 after Browne brace

Wembley Downs’ perfect start to the Belt Up Amateur Premier Division season continued on Sunday with their 12th successive win.

A Harry Browne double and a goal by substitute Zac Archer gave Wembley a 3-1 win over South Perth United, who had led thanks to Wellington Muvunduke’s opener.

Kelmscott Roos also won 3-1 to stay 10 points behind the leaders.

Amos Doegolia Jnr struck for Roos, who were then pegged back by Kieran Bright’s equaliser for Joondalup United. Yet despite losing Doegolia to a red card, Kelmscott regrouped to score twice in the final seven minutes through Ralph Mawire and substitute Solomon Finch's penalty. Kelmscott are three points clear in second while Joondalup are bottom without a point.

Emerald are third following their 1-1 draw away to Maccabi. Both goals came in the second half with Andrew Patton scoring for Emerald and Jonah Froman levelling for the hosts.

North Perth United are fourth on the back of their 2-1 victory at Peel United. Zak Thomas and Joshua Cortes struck for North Perth either side of Alec Smith’s equaliser.

Jaguar FC dropped a spot to fifth after going down 3-2 at North Beach. Clayton Arnez and Daniel Yelland had North Beach 2-0 ahead at the break, before Mathew Sesay reduced the arrears nine minutes into the second period. Alex Kretowicz then restored the two-goal lead, and despite Majok Mayen’s late effort Jaguar were unable to get on terms.

The other game saw Morley Windmills win 3-0 at Kingsley Westside. Mehdi Gholami, Chileshe Chipumbu and substitute Travis Taylor got the goals.
