Wembley win again to stay in touch with leaders Roos

It’s five wins out of five for Wembley Downs as they keep pace with Kelmscott Roos in the Belt Up Amateur Premier Division.

Wembley remain a point behind the league leaders but with a game in hand after their Round Six win over North Beach. A Josh Chalmers double followed by a Jack Mellor goal gave the Amateur Night Series winners a 3-0 win at Butlers Reserve.

Unbeaten Kelmscott also won 3-0, against Peel United. Kriss Radivojsa scored before the break with Stephen Kirk and Isaac Koomson netting late on to make it five wins and a draw for Roos from their opening six matches.

Third-place Emerald and Maccabi, who are fourth, both lost ground on the top two.

Emerald found themselves two down at half-time against Kingsley Westside, Ryan Fish and Sam Church the scorers. And though Ronan Flaherty pulled one back early in the second half, the game ended 2-1 in Kingsley’s favour.

Maccabi were beaten 2-0 by North Perth United, with Kyle Jackson getting both.

Elsewhere, Kuol Riak helped himself to a hat-trick as Jaguar thumped Joondalup United 7-0. Roy Kimutai and Mathew Sesay got two apiece as Jaguar moved up to sixth while Joondalup are yert to pick up a point.

Finally, Morley Windmills came from 2-0 down to draw at South Perth United. Goals either side of the interval by Ayela Santa and Wellington Muvunduke had United well set, before Morley responded through Faustin Machochi and a Gavin Knight penalty.
