Dampier JSC Red Dogs named Club Changer Club of the Month

Club Changer Club of the Month March 2026

Dampier Junior Soccer Club have been named our Club Changer Club of the Month.

Participation is the theme for March, celebrating clubs that are actively growing the game and creating opportunities for more people to get involved.

The Red Dogs, based in the Pilbara region, have demonstrated a strong commitment to expanding access to football across their regional community.

In 2025, the club introduced its MiniRoos Kick-Off program for children aged three-and-a-half to five. This year, the program has expanded into a broader development pathway for 6–11-year-olds, creating structured opportunities for young players who may not yet feel ready to enter competitive football.

The club has also taken a proactive role in advocating for female participation pathways in the region. Dampier JSC have worked with their local soccer association to introduce a dedicated U14 Girls competition. They also continue to advocate for an U16 Girls league to keep players in the sport.

Other initiatives include:

  • Reducing registration fees to help make football more affordable for local families

  • Offering FREE Foundations of Football

  • Introducing a Club Person of the Year recognition framework for senior and junior volunteers

Eight Dampier players travelled to Perth to be flag bearers at the recent AFC Women’s Asian Cup match between Japan and Chinese Taipei, a moment that inspired younger players and reinforced that football opportunities can extend far beyond their regional community.

Dampier JSC President Tanya Argent said: “On behalf of our club, I’m incredibly proud that we have been recognised as Club Changer of the Month. This achievement reflects the dedication, passion, and hard work of our volunteers, players, coaches, and families who continue to build a positive and inclusive football community.

“Awards like this are never about one person; they represent the collective effort of everyone in our Dampier community who contribute their time and energy to make our club a place where players can grow, connect, and love the game.”

Football West Club Development Lead Mo Syafiq said: "Congratulations to Dampier Junior Soccer Club on their achievement. Their commitment to increasing participation is an inspiration to other clubs, both regional and metro.

"It was terrific to see the youngsters at the recent Women's Asian Cup game, where they performed so well as flag bearers."

Dampier Red Dogs are now planning to host a round of competition fixtures in Pannawonica over the June long weekend, bringing football directly to families in the neighbouring community and strengthening regional connections.
