Board Members

Sherif Andrawes

Chair

Sherif is an experienced corporate leader and the former Chairman of accounting firm BDO (WA) and Global Natural Resources Leader for BDO.

Sherif grew up in Scotland, graduating from the University of Glasgow, before becoming a Fellow of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. His love for football began at a young age and continues across all levels of the game, both locally and internationally.

Sherif has a long-standing involvement in football as a former President and Life Member of East Fremantle SC, a committee member of Perth SC, and as a coach and player at several clubs.

Sherif joined the Football West Board in 2012 and has served as Chair since 2019, contributing to the growth and engagement of football across Western Australia.

Ivy Chen

Deputy Chair

Ivy has over 30 years’ experience in the minerals industry across geology, mining, resource estimation and management. Her operational background includes open pit and underground mining projects in

Australia and China, covering gold, manganese and chromite. She has also held senior corporate management roles and is currently Principal Consultant at CSA Global Pty Ltd, specialising in corporate governance, due diligence, mining studies and disclosure. Ivy is also the founder and Director of GeoReg Mining & Governance, a boutique advisory firm focused on governance and public disclosure in the mining sector.

Ivy developed her passion for football growing up in Malaysia, where exposure to international competitions shaped her love for the game. She is actively involved with Multicultural Futures, supporting migrants as they settle in Australia, and sees football as a powerful tool for community connection.

Chris Harold

Chris is a legal associate practising in personal injury litigation at WA insurance law firm McCabes.

After retiring from professional football at a young age, Chris transitioned into law, completing his College of Law and progressing quickly within the profession. He has previously assisted the PFA with collective bargaining negotiations and contract matters during the pandemic.

Chris has served on Football West’s Disciplinary and Ethics Tribunal and is also a panel member for the A-League Disciplinary and Ethics Committee.

Richard Marshall

Richard has extensive experience as a Chief Financial Officer, including roles with listed companies and the WA Cricket Association. He has also served as Company Secretary for several organisations.

Richard has been involved with Football West’s Finance and Audit Committee since its establishment, later serving as Chair before joining the Board.

He has a lifelong interest in football, having played from an early age and coached following his playing career. Richard regularly attends football at all levels, from grassroots through to professional competitions.

Annette Ellis

Annette is an experienced executive director, corporate advisor and board member with strong expertise in risk management, strategy oversight, governance and crisis communication. She believes inclusive culture is central to sustainable high performance.

She joined Purple, Western Australia’s leading public relations firm, after immigrating from South Africa and later led the organisation as its first female CEO and Managing Director. Annette remains a non-executive director on Purple’s board.

She brings extensive experience supporting and governing member-based organisations and has advised a wide range of industry groups across Western Australia.

David Buckingham

David is a corporate leader with more than three decades of global executive experience across telecommunications, media, technology, IT and education.

He has previously held Chief Executive Officer roles at global and Australian organisations, including Navitas and iiNet, and senior financial leadership roles in the United Kingdom with companies such as Virgin Media, Telewest Global Inc. and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

David has been involved in grassroots football in Western Australia through club participation and family involvement and brings a strong interest in the broad role Football West plays across the game.

Jade Concei

Jade is highly experienced in corporate and commercial law, advising on mergers and acquisitions, business sales, capital raisings, corporate governance and regulatory compliance.

She is currently Managing Counsel and Deputy Company Secretary at Synergy, providing strategic legal and governance advice. Jade is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and has undertaken executive leadership development programs.

Sport has played an important role in Jade’s life, with a strong family connection to football following her grandfather’s involvement in the game after migrating to Australia.

Nadia van Dommelen

Nadia is a professionally qualified civil and structural engineer with extensive experience in project management and infrastructure delivery.

She has worked in structural design and project management roles with leading construction organisations. Nadia is an experienced non-executive director and committee advisor, including long-term service with the Arts & Culture Trust and as Chair of its Finance, Risk and Audit Committee.

She also contributes to advisory committees within tertiary education and brings valuable not-for-profit experience through board and volunteer roles. Nadia is Perth-born and has a strong passion for sport, particularly football and basketball.
