Child Safeguarding
Football West is committed to providing a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for all children and young people participating in football across Western Australia.
We have a zero-tolerance approach to child abuse, harm, neglect and other conduct that places children at risk. Safeguarding children is a shared responsibility, and everyone involved in football has a role to play in creating environments where children feel safe, respected and valued.
Football West operates under Football Australia’s Member Protection Framework, including the FA Safeguarding Policy, and is committed to the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations. Our safeguarding approach includes safer recruitment and screening, mandatory Working with Children Checks, child safeguarding training, clear codes of conduct, and structured processes for reporting and responding to concerns. We are continuing to strengthen our child safe practices across Football West and our affiliated Clubs and Associations.
