How to Report a Concern
How Integrity Concerns are Handled
Integrity concerns in football are managed using a consistent complaints process adopted across football in Australia.
Football West manages integrity concerns in line with the Football Australia integrity framework.
Matters are assessed and investigated in accordance with the National Complaints Procedure, which sets out how concerns are received, assessed, investigated and resolved.
To help understand how integrity concerns may progress once reported, the complaints process flowchart explains the key steps involved.
Reporting Safeguarding or Member Protection Concerns
Speaking up helps protect participants, address concerns early and support safe football environments. Reports can be made by anyone, regardless of their role in football. If you see or experience behaviour that raises an integrity concern, you are encouraged to report it.
If you see something, say something.
If a child is in immediate danger or a life-threatening situation, call Police on 000 immediately.
Where it is safe and appropriate to do so, individuals are encouraged to seek early resolution of member protection concerns through their Club, rather than managing the issue alone. However, concerns can be reported directly to Football West at any time, particularly where a matter is serious, sensitive, involves a conflict of interest, or raises concerns about safety.
If you are unsure whether a matter should be reported, would like guidance on a safeguarding issue, or would like to discuss a concern before submitting a report, please contact the Football West at integrity@footballwest.com.au.
