About Futsal
Futsal is the indoor format of football, played between two teams of five players including a goalkeeper, with rolling substitutions throughout the match. Played on a hard court with a smaller, low-bounce ball, the game is quick, technical and rewards creativity, control and sharp decision making in tight spaces.
Football West is committed to growing futsal across Western Australia and strengthening the pathways available to players, coaches and referees. Through collaboration with the local futsal community, the focus is on creating a more connected and recognised structure that supports participation, development and progression at all levels.
Football West delivers its own F-League competition, providing a structured and competitive environment for players across men’s, women’s and youth formats. This sits alongside broader pathway opportunities, including the selection and preparation of state teams to represent Western Australia at national championships, giving players the chance to compete against the best in the country.
This approach supports club development, education for coaches and referees, and expanded opportunities across both metropolitan and regional areas. With futsal continuing to grow rapidly, it plays an important role in the football landscape in Western Australia and offers a strong platform for skill development and progression.
