Our Strategy for Football in WA
Football West’s Strategic Plan 2023-2026 aligned with Football Australia’s One Football Strategy and set the direction for football in Western Australia. The plan saw Football West further develop the game under key strategic pillars:
- Participants and Clubs
- Elite Teams and Pathways
- Fans
- Unifying Football
- Asia and the Sam Kerr Football Centre
Football West CEO Jamie Harnwell said: “This Strategic Plan is a real statement of intent and one we are proud to deliver. As a governing body, we want to make our game even more accessible, so we can inspire a new generation to love football. That comes through hard work, consultation and direction, all of which are key to the Strategic Plan.”
The development of the Strategic Plan 2023-2026 was led by independent consultants and included data from the Insights Project which had close to 1,000 submissions from across the football community.
Looking ahead, Football West are now in the process of finalising the next chapter of the Strategic Plan for 2027-2030.
Following recent community workshops which included two in-person sessions as well as an online workshop, Football West is now working through the findings from our various stakeholders across the state. We are looking forward to sharing the Strategic Plan 2027-2030 with the public in due course.
