Football West is inviting teams to register for the 2026 Africa Down Under Cup.
This year’s event takes place at Langley Park in Perth CBD on Thursday 3 September, from 4-7.30pm.
The Africa Down Under Cup is a free, annual five-a-side tournament jointly hosted by Football West and Paydirt Media. It celebrates African football culture and the diversity of Western Australia’s football community.
There are separate men’s and women’s tournaments, with trophies and medals awarded to the winning teams and runners-up.
The Africa Down Under Cup began in 2014 to coincide with Perth’s Africa Down Under mining conference, which focuses on raising awareness of Australia’s interests in African mining and energy. The alignment of the event highlights the link between sport, culture and industry, and the role football plays in bringing people together beyond the pitch.
